The relationship between attitude and practical commitment to prayer and the level of health promoting behaviors and resilience in students of Kashan University of Medical Sciences, 2019

Background: Prayer is a means of restraining the self-esteem and comfort of believers.

Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on all students of Kashan University of Medical Scienc . Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 16 using descriptive and analytical statistics.

Results: 42.5% of the students (170 students) were male. The mean and standard deviation of the students' age was 22.53±1.73. Mean score of attitude and practical commitment of students to prayer was (52.1±10.11), health promotion behaviors (126.18±21.11), and resilience (88.98±14.71); There was a significant relationship between the mean score of students' attitude and practical commitment to prayer and the mean score of health promoting and resilience behaviors (P<0.05).

Conclusion: Considering the statistical correlation between attitude and practical commitment to prayer with health-promoting behaviors and resiiency; Behavioral implications of practical attitude and commitment to prayer can be used to improve and promote resilience and health promotion behaviors of students.
