Abstract:   (320 Views)
Introduction: Attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders. One of the new interventions in the treatment of these children is cognitive rehabilitation. Therefore the purpose of this study was to Effectiveness of  cognitive rehabilitation of inhibitory control in Response Inhibition and Selective Attention in children with attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder.
Methods: The current research design was experiment with pre-test-post-test and control group. The statistical population included children with attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder in Ardabil city were referred to the psychiatric center in Ardabil city in 2024. From this population, 40 children with attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder were selected by purposeful sampling and randomly replaced in experimental and control group (20 people in each group). Data were collected using Connors Parent Rating Scale (1978), Go/ No Go & Stroop. The subjects received cognitive rehabilitation intervention. The control group did not receive any intervention. Data analysis was done with SPSS version 25 software and with covariance analysis
Results: The results showed that there is a significant difference between the groups in Response Inhibition and Selective Attention. The experimental group had higher Response Inhibition and Selective Attention compared to the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusion: According to the results, it can be said that the intervention of cognitive rehabilitation was effective in improving the Response Inhibition and Selective Attention in children with attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder. Therefore, both interventions can be used to improve the Response Inhibition and Selective Attention in children with attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder.
