Guidelines for Manuscript Submission
ONLINE SUBMISSION
The Journal accepts only manuscripts through the online submission system, easy to use and easy to track, thus by conducting all procedures electronically your submission will be done rather faster. Once you submit an article, it will be forwarded to one of the editors and afterwards to at least three of the peer-reviewers. At once after submission, the author will be notified of both the submission process by means of email and the follow-up ID code. It is recommended to save the sent ID code for all the future correspondence regarding each article separately.
Author Guidelines
The language of the article is Persian. Writing guidelines related to diction, grammar, orthography and spelling, punctuation, and mechanics should be carefully observed.
The Manuscript should be typed in double space on one side of A4 size paper with clear margins (25 mm) on both sides and page number in the center bottom of the page, using MS-Word software. Using "B Lotus" font size 10 (Bold) for Persian manuscript and "Times New Roman", font size 12 (Bold) respectively for English abstract and title are required mandatory. Typing in size 14 (Bold) for main title, 10 (Bold) for authors name and original 10 for their address are expected. Tables as well as illustrations should be typed, drawn and submitted at the end of paper. Do not submit tables in photo-graphic. Diagrams have to be designed in MS-Excel software with specific name and submitted in separate paper.
All authors should provide their consents in article publishing and its authenticity in the letter. If the article's abstract was among a seminar's abstracts in the past, its title and seminar specifications need to be mentioned (see the sample in the website).
Notes:
- If there is any conflict of interests, it should be notified in a letter accompanied with the paper.
- Review articles are only acceptable from the expert and knowledgeable authors with limited quantities (4-5 papers).
- Only a few case reports are acceptable in each volume. So, please provide the most important and rare medical case reports in limited pages, not more than 4.
- The editorial board is authorized in accepting, rejecting or correcting the articles.
- To accelerate the evaluation and publishing process, please submit your manuscript on-line.
Peer Review: 1) All adopted articles with above conditions are proclaimed and sent at least to three reviewers immediately for evaluation; 2) After one month the results will be reviewed in the editorial Board; 3) The paper with reviewers' ideas are sent to the author; 4) The paper is received; 5) The final paper is sent to one reviewer; 6) It is reviewed again to see if the corrections are made and/or the questions are answered; 7) The acceptance Letter is issued. The accepted paper is published at online journal.
Manuscript writing style and technical requirements
The manuscript should include: Title page, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, Conflict of interest, Funding Sources and References.
Title page: It should contain the complete title of the manuscript, a running title, the name of all the authors (first name, middle initial, last name) including their departmental and institutional addresses. The complete mailing address, telephone number, fax number, and email address of the corresponding author should be provided.
Abstract: All original articles must accompany a structured abstract up to 250 words. It should be structured as Background, Materials and Methods, Results and Conclusion followed by 3 to 6 Keywords. Keywords will assist indexers in cross indexing the article as they are published with abstract. Use terms from the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) list of index medicus (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/MBrowser.html). Authors need to be careful that the abstract reflects the content of the article accurately.
Introduction: This should summarize the purpose and rationale for the study. It should neither review the subject extensively nor has the data or conclusions of the study.
Materials and Methods: This should include the exact method or observation or experiment. If an apparatus is used, its manufacture's commercial name and address should be given in parentheses. In the case of establishment of an especial method, give reference, but if the method is too new, give enough information, so that another author will be able to reproduce it. The generic name, dose and route of administration of used drug must be given. Statistical methods must be mentioned and any general/specific computer software(s) used must be specified. The info system used should be clearly mentioned.
Results: It must be presented in the form of text, tables and illustrations. The contents of the tables should not be all repeated in the text. Instead, a reference to the table number may be given. Long articles may need sub-headings within some sections (especially the Results and Discussion parts) to clarify their contents.
Discussion: This should emphasize on the findings and the differences and / or similarities with other works performed in the field colleagues. The detailed data should not be repeated in the conclusion again. Emphasize on the new and important aspects of the study and the conclusions them. It must be mentioned whether the assigned hypothesis of the article is true, false or that no conclusions can be derived.
Acknowledgements: All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be covered in the acknowledgement section. It should include persons who provided technical help, writing assistance or general support. Financial or material support should also be acknowledged.
Tables: Each table should be provided on a separate page after the references, and should have a brief and self-explanatory title.
Figures: Should be in limited numbers, with high quality art work and mounted on separate pages. The captions should be placed below. The same data should not be presented in tables, figures and text, simultaneously. The photos should have high resolution (600 dpi or more) in JPEG, TIFF, GIF, PDF format. Color photos should be in CMYK mode.
References: All manuscripts should be accompanied by relevant references. The author should ensure references to locally published studies by doing proper literature review. The references should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text and typed as superscript at the end of the sentence. All Persian references should be translated in English with the consideration of following the required format.
Modified form of the Vancouver style is considered for the references; examples are as follows:
