In order to investigate its biology and epidemiology and since little is known about its habitat in Iran, the present study was carried out to determine the characteristics of spermatophore scorpion, Odontobuthus doriae in Kashan and Isfahan region for the period of 1990-1994. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study on 60 adult scorpions, caught from their natural habitat was conducted. Spermatophore resulting from mating of scorpions was assessed for their length, width and thickness at the different sites of trunk, pedicel and flagellum. Confidence interval of each measurement is determined. Results: 22 mating were obtained from 32 mates. The size of pedicel to flagellum was 8.5±1.5, length of pedicel 2.75±0.25, width 1.75±0.25 and thickness was 0.85±0.15 millimeter (mm). The broad side of the trunk was 1.4±0.4 mm and the size of the flagellum was 2.5±0.5 mm. Conclusion: Morphometric characteristics of the scorpion Odontobuthus doriae spermatophore were distinct from other various. More research is needed in order to obtain more sperm and information on their shapes. M3 ER -
