بررسی پروفایل آهن در کودکان چاق در مقایسه با کودکان سالم

سابقه و هدف: کودکان چاق نه ­تنها در معرض انواع بیماری­ ها هستند، بلکه به ­دلیل رژیم غذایی با کالری بالا و ارزش غذایی کم در معرض کمبود انواع ریزمغذی­ ها به ­ویژه آهن هستند. این مطالعه با هدف بررسی پروفایل آهن در کودکان چاق و مقایسه آن با افراد غیرچاق انجام گردید.

مواد و روش­ ها: این مطالعه به­ صورت مقطعی روی 200 کودک 5 تا 15 ساله در شهر اصفهان طی سال 1393 انجام شد. گروه مورد 100 کودک چاق دارای پرونده در کلینیک­ های غدد اطفال و گروه شاهد 100 کودک غیرچاق مراجعه کننده به کلینیک ­های اطفال بودند که هیچ بیماری زمینه ای نداشتند. برای تمامی کودکان آزمایشات آهن سرم، فریتین پلاسما و TIBC به­ عمل آمد.

نتایج: در گروه مورد 43 درصد و در گروه کنترل 24 درصد افراد دارای فقر آهن بودند (0/004 P<). در کودکان چاق 88/4 درصد از کودکان مبتلا به فقر آهن دارای فریتین بالاتر از 15 میکرو گرم در لیتر بودند.

نتیجه گیری: با توجه به شیوع فقر آهن در کودکان چاق در این مطالعه به نظر می رسد غربالگری فقر آهن باید در کودکان و نوجوانان با BMI بالا انجام شود.
